Godparents of Thunder

These are latest illustrations done for a friend in Hong Kong. It's a poster for a TV series in China. He did not disclose further but only mentioned the characters called Godparents of Thunder (雷公&雷母）. I mainly involved on coloring. The original pencil is at the bottom. Some modification done on character's postures to fits the realistic coloring direction.

Concept Design: Project Protopyte

This are some concepts, visual development and designs for a research project called Cinematic and Narratives: Project Prototype. I involved in this research project as Art Director and Production Designer (Concepts, storyboarding, visdev and so on) since Jun 2009 till it ended Oct 2011 recently.

The project basically produced in Maya 3D animation and "rendered" in UDK game engine. It was under supervision and leads by Assistant Professor Mark Chavez at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Besides, it is an "Active" movie that morphed in between different styles and treatments with interaction to audiences.

Concept Design: Stand Still

This is a pre-production work for a gesture based game project. It was a further development from a research project called Cinematic and Narratives. The project leads by Assistance Professor Mark Chavez in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. I have involved in the game creation from concepts, game play, storyboarding, character and BG designs and so on. The game does not work out due to insufficient funding but it was truly a wonderful and contented experience to me. I would like thanks to all team members involved and the opportunity given by Prof. Mark.

9th of July, an event regarded to freedom and justice happens in my loving country Malaysia. It triggered me to come out with this character creation. A superhero called The Strait, a murdered guy regains his life with superpower from a 5 hundred years sinking boat under the Malacca Straits... I already have some ideas on this guy, hopefully can turn out into a comic book on him in coming future. Wish to work out the story with a writer with same channel, anyone?

- Finally, 6pcs of sample pages completed. I have been spending some time study on Superhero comic styles, but obviously there are still some Hong Kong comic elements in my pages, as I used to draw them previously, can't escape from the influences. Beside, there are sketch pages in A4 below.

These are some comic pages done during I was a penciller & inker for a Hong Kong published "WuXia" novel called The Knife, The Sword & The smile (刀、剑、笑). The title and characters created by Chris Lau (刘定坚). A 40 episodes of TV series is in production in GuangZhou, China by the creator.

Zu Warrior 2080 (2002) - Created by Chris Lau (刘定坚), published in Hong Kong for 8 issues. I worked as a penciller in the project.

The Omega Code (2003) - Created by Chris Lau (刘定坚), published in Hong Kong for 12 issues. I worked as a penciller in the project.

Panca Satria, a Malay language comic produced in 1998, published by Tatsun Publishing. I team up with a friend, Terry Lim for this project. It's a story about legendary hero called Hang Tuah, a myth during the Malacca kingdom period. But the book did not turn out well, only 2 issues published in Malaysia.

Legacy of Power/强势 (1998)-Created by Tatsun Hui. A fully hand painted comic published in Hong Kong & Malaysia. I mainly involved in pencils & coloring.

Mahkota (1998)-Unpublished comic created by JC Wong.

Enigma (1999-2000)- Created by JC Wong. The hand painted pages were published in a Malay language comic magazine called Gempak.
